The Rural Municipalities of Alberta (RMA) is an independent association comprising Alberta’s 69 counties and municipal districts. Since 1909, the association has helped rural municipalities achieve strong, effective local government. The RMA provides Advocacy and Business Services (including RMA Insurance, Canoe Benefits and the Canoe Procurement Group of Canada).
The RMA’s partnership opportunities are an excellent way for your organization to gain visibility and recognition with municipal decision-makers from across Alberta.
A wide range of partnership opportunities are available for 2026 at Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze levels. Customized sponsorship packages can also be developed in consultation with the RMA to align with your organization’s specific goals and needs.

RiskPro Communities
RiskPro Communities is RMA Insurance’s annual insurance and risk management education symposium, designed to help municipal and community organizations learn how to better protect their facilities, residents, and staff from potential risks and losses.
RMA Conventions
The RMA hosts two conventions per year, one in spring and one in fall, at the Edmonton Convention Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. Each convention sees a variety of plenary addresses and workshops, as well as the ministerial forum and resolutions session. In addition to these events, the fall convention hosts the opposition party leader plenary, as well as our RMA Board elections. The RMA and Canoe Tradeshow is held during the fall convention to better serve our members as they go through the budget process within their municipalities.
